DI.3-5.9 I feel connected to other people and know how to talk, work and play with others even when we are different or when we disagree.

Focus Student 1:
Started right away on the math problem while the rest of the class was still on the carpet because he didn't want to forget. Looking back, I think this was because he didn't want to forget what the story problem was since he struggles with reading. This student did not participate in the group poster and missed the math talk and exit ticket due to being outside the classroom. This student also has an IEP. |
Focus Student 2:
Helped her table group by keeping them on task. She said "what strategy should we use today?" and "we used your strategy yesterday, let's use someone else's today." This student needed support in showing her work on her paper because she was easily able to talk through her thinking and arrive at the correct sum. This student might start the SST process soon. |
Focus Student 3:
Used the associative property in his number sentence which was something we had learned about, but was not explicitly expected during this lesson, so it was nice to see him apply what we learned about the associative property. This student took initiative by starting right away and talking to his group about the story problem and wrote on the poster for his group. This student is currently going through the SST process. |
