Hello! My name is Ms. Marlena and I have my multiple subject teaching credential and will be teaching 3rd grade while getting my Master's of Education in Teaching and Learning at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education. I have lived in China, Luxembourg (where I mostly grew up), San Diego, and Costa Rica (where I studied abroad for a semester). Experiencing a multicultural education and growing up with parents who were both teachers developed my passion for learning. I highly value forming strong relationships with students in order to further support their learning and growth into becoming confident and curious individuals. In my free time I enjoy surfing, volleyball, yoga, being outside, cooking, reading, and traveling! I am so excited to be taking this next step in my teaching career.
