Hello! My name is Ms. Marlena and I have my multiple subject teaching credential. I teach 3rd grade and received my Master's of Education in Teaching and Learning at the High Tech High Graduate School of Education. I have lived in China (where I was born and adopted), Luxembourg (where I mostly grew up), San Diego, and Costa Rica (where I studied abroad for a semester). Experiencing a multicultural education and growing up with parents who were both teachers developed my passion for learning. I highly value forming strong relationships with students in order to further support their learning and growth into becoming confident and curious individuals. In my free time I enjoy beach volleyball, yoga, surfing, being outside, cooking, reading, and traveling! I am so excited to be taking this next step in my teaching career.
